Whether you’re a Wolves fan or just someone who appreciates the history of the beautiful game, a tour of Molineux has to be on your agenda when you visit Wolverhampton. You’ll get to see the dressing rooms, walk through the tunnel and get to sit in the dug-out for a fantastic experience. Of course, you might also be visiting as an away fan – but you can still expect a warm welcome (with no quarter given on the pitch).

You can check out Wolverhampton’s links with the aerospace industry and the RAF at the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford. It’s just outside Wolverhampton on the site of an airbase that was built just before World War 2, and houses some impressive aircrafts, including a Spitfire, a Vulcan, a Mosquito, a Comet, a Hurricane and a Harrier – and that’s about 10% of its collection. You’ll even see a tank.

Within 10km of the centre of Wolverhampton are no fewer than five historic houses – Bantock House, Wightwick Manor, Moseley Old Hall, Chillington Hall and Boscobel House. You’ll need at least a half-day for each, so if stately homes and manor houses are your thing, you’d better come and stay for a few days. Within the city, you can also visit the Wolverhampton Art Gallery or the Asylum Art Gallery to get your cultural fix.
