How to get to Speke Hall
Speke Hall is located at The Walk, Speke, in Liverpool. On the edge of the city, this attraction is outside the hustle and bustle of Liverpool. There are plenty of ways to arrive at Speke Hall, the simplest ones being by train, car or bus.
If you’re getting the train to Speke Hall, the nearest train stations are both Liverpool South Parkway and Hunts Cross. These stations can be reached by a quick journey from Liverpool Lime Street. Both of these options are around 2 miles from the attraction, so from there you could opt for a taxi or choose to walk for up to an hour.
You could also catch the bus to Speke Hall. While there are no direct services onto the grounds, lots of buses arrive within half a mile of the entrance. From Liverpool city centre, any bus running from Liverpool One bus station towards Liverpool Airport will bring you near. The most direct options are the 86, the 86A and the 500 services.
Driving to this Liverpool attraction is also an option. Speke Hall is easy to find, just adjacent to Liverpool Airport. If you’re coming in from the motorway, follow signs for the airport and then for Speke Hall as you approach. If you’re coming from the city centre, follow the river south and keep an eye out for signs. There is free parking available on-site.

About Speke Hall
Speke Hall is a Tudor manor house on the riverbank of Liverpool’s River Mersey. The National Trust works to conserve the house and make it a pleasant site for visitors to enjoy. The house holds over 400 years of fascinating history to be discovered on your trip.
It was built originally by the Norris family to impress visitors, then later by the Watts family. During the 18th and 19th centuries, it suffered years of neglect until it was restored later in the 19th century. Today, the house is open to the public as a beautiful setting to reflect on the past and the present.
Speke Hall tickets cost £12 for an adult, £6 for a child or £30 for a family to enter the grounds. To see the house and grounds, adults cost £17, children £8.50 and families £42.50. Keep in mind that Speke Hall is a National Trust site, so entry is free for members.
Speke Hall opening times vary by season. In the summer months, opening times look like this:
- Hall: 12.30pm to 5pm
- Gardens: 10.30am to 5pm
- Restaurant: 10.30am to 4.30pm
In the winter months, expect open times to be a little shorter.
