How to get to Coventry Building Society Arena
Coventry Arena Stadium actually has its own train station, Coventry Arena train station, so it couldn’t be easier to get there. If you’re travelling from Coventry city centre, or from elsewhere in the country, simply hop on a train to Coventry Arena from Coventry station. The journey time is less than 10 minutes, and Coventry Arena station is just a five-minute walk from the stadium.
London Euston is also just 55 minutes by train, so it’s easy to get to the stadium from further afield. There is plenty of parking at the stadium if you’re coming by car, or you can take a bus to the retail park opposite Coventry Building Society Arena, roughly a 10-minute walk. If you’re taking the bus, look for services 4, 5, 20, 20A or 20E.
What to do at Coventry Building Society Arena
The stadium is home to Championship football club, Coventry City FC. It hosts a variety of international football events, including the 2011 Women’s FA Cup Final, and the 2012 Olympics. During the Olympics, the stadium was temporarily renamed the City of Coventry Stadium, as sponsorship names aren’t allowed under Olympic Committee rules.
As well as sporting events, the stadium has a hotel, casino, and a large exhibition hall. Just a short walk away, you’ll find the Arena Park Shopping Centre with a wide selection of high street retailers and supermarkets, including one of the biggest Tescos in the UK.

Coventry City FC’s former ground was Highfield Road, and the decision to move to a stadium with more capacity and better access was taken in 1997. It was opened in 2005 and was originally named the Ricoh stadium thanks to sponsorship by the Japanese camera manufacturer. It was renamed in 2021 when a 10-year sponsorship deal was struck with Coventry Building Society. The stadium has a seating capacity of 32,609.
