How to get to St. Andrews Stadium
Getting to St Andrews stadium couldn’t be easier, as it’s just 1.5 miles from Birmingham city centre. There are plenty of trains to St Andrews, making it easy to get to the stadium no matter where you’re travelling from. The closest station to St Andrews is Bordesley, just 0.6 miles from the stadium. This station is only open on match days. The other stations in the vicinity are Birmingham Moor Street (1.4 miles away) and Birmingham New Street (1.9 miles from the stadium). From Birmingham New Street, it’s just a 20-minute walk to St Andrews, or you can catch a bus to get there even faster.
Taking the bus is also an option, with both the 17 & 60 buses serving the station. There is also car parking in the vicinity of St Andrews if you’re coming from further afield.
What to do at St. Andrews Stadium
If you’re heading to St Andrews, it’s likely that you’re going to see Birmingham City Football Club play, as the stadium is the club’s home ground. The grounds host the club’s home matches, and international matches have also been held at St Andrews, as well four FA Cup semi finals. Other sporting events are also held at the stadium, including athletics, rugby union and boxing.
About St. Andrews Stadium
St Andrews has been the home of Birmingham City FC since 1906, replacing their Muntz Street ground which had hosted the club since 1877. There are four stands in the stadium, allowing for a total capacity of 29,409.
