Rail Sale

PROMOTIONAL FARES

1. These terms and conditions apply to Promotional fares. Promotional fares means tickets available for purchase as “Rail Sale” tickets only during the Term. Promotional fares are available in Standard Class for selected journeys.

2. Unless detailed in these terms and conditions, Advance fare conditions apply. 

3. Promotional fares are only available via website and mobile applications.

BOOKING DEADLINE

4. Promotional fares must be bought at least 3-7 days in advance of travel. Promotional fares are available to buy from 10:00 on 14 January 2025 until 23:59 on 20 January 2025; for travel from 17 January 2025 until 23:59 31 March 2025 (the “Term”).

SELECTED ROUTES AND LIMITED AVAILABILITY 

6. Over 150,000 seats available as of 14 January 2025 in Standard Class only.

7. Tickets for travel on Sundays are excluded from the Great British Rail Sale.

8. Promotional fares are subject to quota-controlled availability.

9. Promotional fares are available for selected journeys only and may not be available at some peak times. Availability will be lower on certain dates and routes, which are expected to be busy, and subject to demand.

10. Maximum of 9 persons per booking.

GENERAL

11. “Rail Sale” fares are non-refundable, but changes are allowed. Any change of journey requests incur a £10 admin fee in addition to the difference in fare.

12. Child concession of 50% applies for customers aged 5-15 inclusive. Up to two children aged under 5 can travel free with each fare paying passenger (seat reservations for children aged under 5 are not available).

13. Child discounts are applicable, but Railcards are not permitted.

14. Customers may not start, break and resume, or end their journey at any intermediate station except to change to/from connecting trains as shown on the ticket(s).

15. These tickets will not be valid for travel on other train operators' services, or on dates or times other than as shown on the ticket.

1.0 Great British Rail Sale Promotion

1.1 These terms and conditions apply to the Rail Sale, a promotion coordinated by ATOC Ltd on behalf of participating Train Companies for the Promotional Period.

1.2 Over 2 million promotional Rail Sale Tickets will be available on selected journeys across the National Rail network (in England, Wales & Scotland) for the Promotional Period.

1.3 The Promotional Period will start on 14 January 2025 and will end when all Rail Sale Tickets have been sold or on 20 January 2025, whichever is sooner, for travel between 17 January 2025 and 31 March 2025. The number of Rail Sale Tickets available during the Promotional Period is limited and subject to availability.

1.4 Rail Sale Tickets are selected Advance or Off-Peak tickets with fares discounted by individual participating Train Companies, up to 50% off the equivalent full price Advance ticket fare. Where a participating Train Company does not offer Advance tickets, Off-Peak ticket fares may be offered as an alternative. Rail Sale Tickets are not available on all routes or all journeys and may not represent the lowest available fare for a particular journey.

1.5 Rail Sale tickets must be purchased at least 3-7 days in advance of the date of travel. This varies per operator.

1.6 The Rail Sale is promoted via the Rail Sale website and Rail Sale Tickets are available to purchase via participating Train Companies and ticket retailers for the Promotional Period. This is an online sale, please contact the relevant participating Train companies if you require assistance or have specific accessibility requirements.

2.0 Selected Routes, Limited Availability and Exclusions

2.1 The number of Rail Sale tickets offered by each participating Train Company will vary and are limited in number.

2.2 Tickets are not available on all routes and at some peak times and are not offered by all Train Companies.

2.3 Availability is subject to specific travel exclusions across some routes due to engineering improvement works. For more details of engineering works please refer to participating Train Company websites.

2.4 Railcard discounts do not apply to Rail Sale Tickets, and no other discounts can be used in conjunction with the Rail Sale Tickets.

2.5 Child tickets can be purchased with the Rail Sale from participating Train Companies and ticket retailers.

3.0 General

3.1 ATOC Ltd reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without notice and to take appropriate action to close the offer or withdraw the Rail Sale Tickets from sale at any time.

3.2 Usual Train Company terms and conditions of purchase, National Rail Conditions of Travel, Advance and Off-Peak ticket terms and conditions apply.

3.3 The promoter of the Rail Sale is ATOC Ltd on behalf of participating Train Companies. ATOC Limited is a company registered in England and Wales under company no. 03069033, whose registered office is at First Floor North, 1 Puddle Dock, London, England, EC4V 3DS
