How to get to Celtic Park Stadium

Celtic Park, located in the Parkhead area, is roughly two miles from Glasgow city centre. One easy way of getting there is by taking the train to Celtic Park. From Glasgow Central, take a train to Dalmarnock, which is roughly a ten-minute walk from the stadium. Another option for getting from Glasgow Central to Celtic Park is to take a train to Bridgeton, which is around a 15-minute walk from the stadium.

To travel by bus, you can take service numbers 2, 61, 64, 255 or 240, all of which stop at the Forge Shopping Centre which is roughly a mile from the stadium.

Alternatively, you can walk or cycle from the city centre. It’s roughly a 45-minute walk from Glasgow Central or just a 10-minute bike ride, and there is secure bike parking at Celtic Park.


What to do at Celtic Park Stadium

The home of Celtic FC, Celtic Park is the training ground and home venue for the club. It’s also been used to host Scottish international games when Hampden Park has been unavailable, including a 1998 FIFA World Cup qualifying game, where Scotland secured entry into the tournament with a 2-0 win against Latvia.

As well as football, Celtic Park has hosted other sporting events including speedway and shinty. It hosted the opening ceremony for the 2014 Commonwealth Games and has acted as a music venue, hosting artists like Prince, U2 and The Who.


About Celtic Park Stadium

Often known as Parkhead or Paradise to fans, Celtic Park is Scotland’s biggest football stadium with a capacity of 60,411 - a capacity that also makes it the eighth-largest stadium in the whole of the UK. The original Parkhead was built in 1888, and Celtic moved to the current stadium in 1892. It was extensively redeveloped during the early 1990s, at a cost of £40 million.

Concerts at Celtic Park Stadium

As Scotland’s biggest stadium, Celtic Park Stadium has also been a key venue for past music events, hosting the likes of global superstars including Prince, U2, The Who and Bryan Adams. While no gigs have been held here since the redevelopment of the stadium in the nineties, that’s not to say concerts at Celtic Park Stadium won’t be held in the future.
If you do get the chance to visit Celtic Park Stadium, whether for a gig or something else, getting here is easy. There are two train stations within a 10-15 minute walk of the stadium, meaning getting to concerts at Celtic Park Stadium is a quick and convenient commute.
